Thanks, tiger.

Not sure why you're saying it's good work on my part. All I do is ask obvious questions.

I really do love his work though - have you checked the full-res ones? They're sweeeeeeet. I would consider buying the Bubble Bobble one he talks about if I had any money.

i liked it too.

context aside, in theory the visual style of what he's doing is basically post-impressionism.

Actually, that's probably true.

I don't know - that wasn't the intro I intended to write. It just came out. I've got no education in art, you've got to realise. What I do effectively looking at art from a media theory background.

I guess it is pure pop-art, isn't it? I really do know bollocks all about art.

you didn't construe my comment as a criticism against the intro did you? i don't know anything about art, i was just trying to appear intelligent. obviously what the guy is doing is pop art, i thought it was just interesting to note that the concept of pixellated art unintentionally shares aspects of impressionism.

Well, I think that's the point of postmodernist art - it takes aspects of everything that has come before and re-shapes it.

You're right, obviously, there are aspects of impressionism in there, but I'd say, broadly, that the art is postmodernist simply because it is so referencial to other styles too.
