How Appropriate, You Act Like A Cow

While I’m on the subject of Monkey Island, I figured I may as well post a link to this video. Apparently, I am still too stupid to know how to embed YouTube videos without them eating my damn site. Just quietly, if anyone can figure out what the hell I’m doing wrong, leave me a comment, eh?

Anyways, I was pretty happy to find a link to this over at Scott Ramsoomair’s VG Cats. It’s a medley of Michael Land’s tunes from the first two games played on piano by a young man named w3sp. I so don’t get the whole 1337 speak thing, but then, I can’t even get videos to imbed in my site properly, so what would I know? The kids these days are so much cooler than I am.

Speaking of kids, here’s another interesting Monkey Island related thing I found - Monkey Island: The Play, as performed by Hammond High School in Columbia, Maryland. Interesting is probably the right word for it. It’s very…shall we say…high school play-ish. Which is not to say it’s bad - no offense meant by the title, kids. All up, it goes for about 90 minutes, and comes in 9 action packed parts.

The casting is a little…shall we say…odd. Guybrush is pretty good, but the Swordmaster is way off, given that she’s not a white girl of that irritating I-do-drama type in the game. Happily, the fact that Meathook is inexplicably played by a hot young woman more than makes up for this.
