GarageGames’ New Marble Blast Plans

Posted on Tuesday 29 August 2006

There’s a sweet interview with Little Mathletics perenial favourites (and subjects of a previous interview here too) GarageGames up on K1lla’s Xbox Domain right now. In it, Marble Blast lead programmer Pat Wilson talks about the plans they’ve got for the Xbox Live Arcade title - most of which revolve around 11 new multiplayer maps, which will be distributed free.

Free? Thank God. It’s so nice to hear that word, especially just now, in the few weeks after Microsoft’s talk about microtransactions. I think I know what’s going to be more popular out there in the Xbox community out of free upgrades or purchasable bullets.

There’s also a heap of bug fixes in the works, which is great news. No word on when all of this will be hitting XBLA, but Pat did let this little piece slip into the conversation:

We are in the pre-production phase of our next game targeted at the Live Arcade channel, but it’s too early to talk about it in detail.

Good to hear that they’re working on new stuff, but no real surprise, given the success of the title.
