Not all, one assumes. I mean, it’s unlikely we’ll be finding out why our country is treated like some kind of international backwater when it comes to marketing decisions, or why they never return phone calls from the DB Magazine office. But we will be finding out the Australian price and date of the Wii on Friday, according to Aussie-Nintendo.
Yes, Japan finds out tomorrow at 11:00am (Australian Eastern Time) and the US finds out at about 10:00pm later that day. Oh, and Europe finds out, uh, sometime on Friday. But given that Australia has been receiving completely different release dates to those territories lately, it’s nice to know that we won’t be waiting around for ages to find out our own little slice of news.
In fact, it looks like the Wii will definitely be coming out in Australia this year. That’s kind of been a bit of an irrational fear of mine over the past few weeks (and especially this last week, since I’ve just pre-ordered one of those bad boys) - that Nintendo of Australia would hold back the Wii until around the time of the PS3 release. It wouldn’t be unheard of, let’s face it. But the fact that Channel 7 has confirmed that a report will be aired on Friday regarding the Wii suggests that Nintendo are beginning the big publicity push that will inevitably preclude the console’s launch.
