John Romero, lead designer on Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake for id Software, and laughing stock misunderstood tragic figure since then, is hiring. His new company, the freshly-named Slipgate Ironworks, was revealed to be working on an MMO last year, and is looking for designers, programmers and artists. Says John:
“Are you interested in joining our amazingly talented and highly motivated superstar game development team? Are you supercore enough to survive our hyperdimensional environment???!!”
It all sounds a bit dotcom boom circa 1997 to me, but if that’s your thing, and if you think you might actually be supercore enough, then head over to the Slipgate site and talk to the man himself. Keep in mind though, it is a hyperdimensional environment. According to NASA Mars Mission Founder and Principal Investigator Richard C. Hoagland, this is what messed up the electical systems of the Voyager 2 spacecraft back in 1981 when it flew too close to Saturn; the planet’s “anomalous major electrical forces” and hyperdimensional environment, caused by it’s radip rotation. I’m no hyperdimensional astrophysicist, but even I know that’s not something you’d want to fuck with. You have to be supercore to deal with that shit.
