I’ve just finished another interview for the GameSetInterview series - I think this is number seven. This one’s with Richard Meurling, who’s working on a homebrew port of the original Zelda for mobile phones. I spoke about this a little while back, and I’ve since given the game a real good going over. It’s pretty clear that it’s not finished (it is only the second demo version, after all) but it still controls and moves well. The only bit I really can’t handle is the attacking noise, which, even after turning my speakers down still sounds like someone is being stabbed in the testicles with a rusty screwdriver.
Anyway, it’s a short little interview, but I’m always curious about developing for formats like this, and I really like the fact that Zelda Mobile is also a functioning game engine. Hopefully we’ll see some more Zelda work from Meurling in the future, or maybe he can be convinced to put the engine up for others to use.
While we’re on the subject of me, and things I do, I noticed a day or so ago that my Hitman: Blood Money review is up on DB Magazine’s website. I’ve said it before, but I really like that game.
